King Charles III Scottish Coronation Performance
Nicola recently performed at a 400-year-old ceremony in Edinburgh to mark King Charles’ Scottish ‘Coronation’.
The National Service of Thanksgiving took place at St Giles’ Cathedral in the Scottish capital on Wednesday (5 July). And among a host of music-making, one of the most moving moments came when Nicola played an arrangement of a much-loved melody from Scottish shores.
With the players of The Honours of Scotland Ensemble, Nicola performed a violin and strings arrangement of Farewell to Stromness by composer Peter Maxwell Davies . The piece tells of the peaceful power of the land and sea in the Orkney Islands, north of the Scottish Mainland.
